About Us
Our Organisation
The Capricorn Coast Landcare group was formed in 1987. Our Landcare group works on projects that help to improve water quality and prevent erosion, weeds, and all forms of pollution from fouling our creeks, mangroves, beaches and parks. By doing this, we are giving our natural spaces the ability to provide essential habitat and increase the range of biodiversity, which has significant benefits to humans as well. Our volunteers and members work on a variety of on-ground activities from planting, weeding, watering, mulching, and maintaining walkways to picking up rubbish. We also participate in community events and raise awareness of environmental issues and natural resource management.
We encourage everyone to take responsibility for places they call 'home', and work together for the environment and our great coastal lifestyle. New members are very welcome.
