Landcare members are important to our group. We charge a small annual membership fee to help keep active in the community and maintain the Envirolink centre. Members get to have a say in meetings and the direction of the group. We also believe that Landcare is more than just caring for the environment; it's a social movement that connects people, creates a sense of purpose, and builds community resilience.
Volunteer Today: ‘Working for the environment; and the community’.
Volunteers are the life blood of our Landcare group. Our main aim is to restore and maintain native vegetation on several sites on the Capricorn Coast, including Farnborough Beach, Mulambin Beach, Alby Wooler Park and Waru, a reserve used for various events, and available to all. We also make regular trips to Konomie (Nth Keppel Island) to carry out weeding and planting projects. Volunteers are told what needs doing and choose what they like to do; or feel comfortable doing.
We maintain a Landcare food garden in the grounds of the Community Centre, where anyone can come along and help themselves to the produce. We do water testing in the Fig Tree Creek system and operate a Cash for Containers operation.
Volunteering is enjoyable and easy - if you have a spare hour or two and and want to help, please click on the button and send us your details. Alternatively, you can all into the Envirolink office, give us a call or drop us an email. You will be warmly welcomed.
